I can successfully authenticate against a Jira Server instance using the API with my userid and password, but not using my email address and a PAT. Does anyone know why that is? It thought the former was obsoleted in favor of the latter.
This works (using Jira userid and password):
This does not (using email address copied from Jira profile and a new PAT):
I am certain the PAT is correct as I can successfully use it as a Bearer Token:
Can anyone clarify this for me?

I think the PAT requires just your username and not your email address if it works as Bearer. Just a hunch given the tests you've done.
