Hi @Taha Bakhach and welcome to the Community!

That the parent link field is locked, means you cannot edit its configuration settings. But that should not prevent you from adding it to the epic screen(s).

In your project settings, have a look under screens to find out which screen is used for epics. Either edit the screen(s) from within your project or - as a Jira administrator - navigate to Jira settings > issues > screens and locate the screen there. You should be able to add the field to the screen just fine.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Walter Buggenhout

Thanks

do you know how can i find the epic Screen ?

@Taha Bakhach -

I agreed with @Walter Buggenhout stated.  The question is why you want to unlock the Parent Link field?  This field is a system field that support issue hierarchy roll-up via Advanced Roadmaps for Jira project where Epic rolls up to a higher up issue type.

To find the screens that used by your Epic issue type, you can start of by accessing the project's Project settings >> Issues >> Screens.  In the UI you will see the screens used by your Epic issue type (example)

Hope this also helps.

@Taha Bakhach -

Your project is a Team Managed type project, thus you need to access "Project settings" >> "Issue types" then access Epic issue type to exposed the field.

Here is a link on the two different types of project(s) (Team Managed vs Company Managed) - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-are-team-managed-and-company-managed-projects/

Hope this helps.

Best, Joseph
