Hello,
We have had a situation that two boards had sprints generated in them without board owner's knowledge.
My question is, if two boards have the same issue in the backlog, would creating a sprint with that issue on one board create a sprint in another board?
Thanks!
An issue is associated to one and only one planned or active sprint. So if you create a sprint containing an issue in one board ("Sprint 1") then this sprint will show up in the other board as a "Sprint 1" sprint.
Sprints are objects on their own so any issue drawn into a board with a sprint associated will show up as separate sprints.
For completeness: An issue can be associated with several closed sprints as it may not be completed within the active sprint(s) and moved along.
Example:
Board1: project = AA
"sprint 1", "sprint 2" created
Board2: project = BB
"SPRINT 1", "sprint Rumba" created
Board3: project in (AA, BB)
Then Board3 will show "sprint 1", "SPRINT 1", "sprint2", "sprint Rumba" in addition to any sprints created on Board3.
Hi Piotr,
In the latest versions of Jira Agile the way Sprints work has been changed. An issue can now only be part of one sprint. So if this issue is visible on several boards the sprint it's in will also be visible on all those boards. It can no longer be part of a different sprint on each board.
Best regards,
Peter
