I've got a really weird problem:
In one of our projects, a workflow is messed up - our "on hold" status is green - (done category), and our "done" status is blue ( "in progress" category"). All I want is to change status categories, so that they match their purpose.
The problem is:
1. I can't change the category of the only "done" category status - because jira doesn't allow that if there is only one green status
2. I can't add a second green status, because jira tells me that there can be only one
What should I do? SCreens for visualization
Just created a new project with this new functionality, created rules etc and then I tried to change type Done but can not do that In my case COMPLETE should be Category Done as Done is used by Dev but complete means its in production now
Hi Jack - I'm not talking about the "board rearrangement" way to configure workflows - lately jira cloud added a more traditional way to configure them. Screens available in the original message at the bottom

Screenshot? how are they ordered on the board? Is the On hold the last column? Can you reorder the columns?

I was just playing with this (not an avid NG user) and here is a solution I think...
You need to create a new 'done' status but set it to "in progress" category. Maybe call it Done2 for now and rename later. On the board delete the current Done category and select move issues to Done2. Go into the workflow and rename the status and clean things up as necessary.
LMK if it works.

let's keep the discussion in this thread fore readability. I think my update should work for you.

Hm, this should work. Thank you!
I'm really surprised that atlassian omitted that kind of inconsistency when they were shipping that functionality O.o

well NG is changing daily and workflows is still very new so I highly recommend you use the Feedback link to let Atlassian know your thoughts. In my very limited (read as just today) efforts w/ NG Workflows I would agree that this behavior is clunky.

But still we can have only one status in 'Done' category which is absurd.
