Hi
Things are getting better with the new Jira UI (but it was an extremely painful transition to it), but I'm wondering when the Create Issue screen is going to go the same way?
The problem is now that the current Create Issues screen is so different and there's a lot of things it can't do. In particular, if you have an addon that adds functionality to the Jira record (eg: Proforma that adds forms), none of that is accessible until you create the issue first. For casual users of Jira, it causes real confusion and another step that doesn't add value.
Anyway, anyone know what the plans are for the Create Issue screen?
Thanks
David
@David Stokes my team and I make ProForma. As far as I am aware there is nothing in the pipeline to overhaul the create screen for Jira.
One thing we have added to ProForma is the ability to link directly to a form to create an issue. We built this feature as people wanted to avoid having to use the create screen. Now you can either link to the form from say Confluence, or you can add a direct link from the Project Nav bar.

Thanks @Simon H
Yes, I'm aware of the ability to create an issue from a form, but from the users perspective, it gets confusing whether they create the issue via the Create Issue button (there are other issues that the need to create in Jira that don't have forms for them) or have to click on separate link to create it from form - it's a usability issue.
If the Create Issue screen was updated to the new UI, then that form would be available on that screen.
Looking forward to hearing from someone from Atlassian on what the plan is to get the UI consistent.
