Recently, when a new issue is created of the issueType Improvement, the text entered in the description field is not saved when the issue is created.
If the user goes in and edits the description after the issue is created, then the description is saved as expected.
Does anyone have an idea how I might resolve this?
Hello @Melisa Collett
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Check the workflow associated with that new issue type to see if there is a Post Function on the Create transition that is clearing the field.
Check if an Automation Rule is running against the issue after it is created. When viewing the issue you can expand the Automations panel on the right side below the Details and More Fields panels. Click Refresh in the Automation panel to get a list of recently executed Automation Rules.
Does your Description field get prefilled with template text when you are creating that type of issue?
Are you working with an issue in a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?
Thanks Trudy,
It was a post function that shouldn't have been applied to the workflow for that issue type.
Appreciate your help!
