Need to sum the values of 2 custom fields and enter them in the Original Estimate field

I need to sum the values of 2 custom fields and enter them in the Original Estimate field
Original Estimate is a native field, I dont know type of this field
1) Can I use numeratic custom fields (Dev Estimate & QA Estimate) for sum values to Original Estimate?
2) What can I use for sum of custom fields?

I found an example https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-math-expressions/#Plus-Minus for story points only:
{{issue.Story Points.plus(issue.subtasks.size)}}

But dont understand how I can use it for custom fields... For example...
{{issue.Original Estimate.plus(???)}}

Help me, please)

Yes, we can

2) What can I use for sum of custom fields?

Operation: {{#=}}{{customfield_10175}} + {{customfield_10174}}{{/}}
where customfield_10175, customfield_10174 - your custom field

hi, I'm trying a similar workflow and i'm not able to get the filed updated .

Steps:

1. I have two numeric fields for Dev and QA hrs.

2. Then doing below condition to edit original estimate field.

Results:

I see automation rule is successful but Original estimate is still 0.

{{#=}}{{issue.[Custom Field].cf[10213].plus(issue.[Custom Field].cf[10212])}}{{/}}

An important thing to consider if you use @Clark Everson 's answer (which is completely right, do it as they said) is that the estimate fields tend to contain large numbers.  Date/time fields are milliseconds since 1/1/1970 (epoch dates), but I can't remember if the estimates are done in milliseconds or seconds.

I doubt your Dev and QA estimates are being done in the same unit, so your automation will need to convert to seconds or milliseconds.  (e.g. if they are hours, you will need to multiply them by 3600, or 3,600,000 before putting it into the original estimate)

Hi Oksana,

You would want to look at some other smart value documentation. Original Estimate I am unsure on the type of field it is in Cloud but there are a lot of documentation on Smart Values[1]

Custom fields of almost all types have their own pages. But the link I attached is a link to all the types so should help!
