Hello! My team and I are using Jira Next-Gen for a few weeks now. We are four designers and we’re in dire need of some help regarding issue customization. Our tasks and workflow can be looked upon in 4 different angles.

1.: Status ( Very straight forward To-do, Doing, Standing by for Feedback, Blocked by, Done)

2.: Project ( We must identify to which project the tasks belong to because we work with multiple projects inside our team board)
3.: Nature ( We must identify the nature of the task we are doing, such as - analysis, layout, research...)
4.: Process (We want to be able to qualify a task even further, specifying if its a “change” or a “correction”, for instance, regardless of nature it might have)

Currently, we are using the following Jira Next-Gen resources to fill our needs:
1.: Board-view status columns
2.: Labels
3.: Issue types
4.: WE NEED HELP HERE

We know that in the standard version of Jira there is a way to customize the “Sub-Task Field Configuration”. Since “changes” and “corrections” are always related to a parent issue, we think that if we could change a subtask issue-type it would solve our problem. Currently, we can only create sub-tasks but we cannot change their issue type in Jira Next-Gen.

Perhaps another thing that could help us, is to be able to create a new custom issue-field inside tasks AND that it would appear over the board-view columns as a drop-down menu, just like Labels and Issue Types do. In this case, we would transfer our nº2: Projects data out of labels into that new custom field and drop-down menu so that Labels could be used in nº4: Process.
