I am from the Jira Mobile team, from the backlog you can long press on any issue and move it wherever you need.
There is only one movement that we don't support quite right is Kanplan or next-gen with backlog and no sprints.
We are trying to address that in the following months.

Changing the status of the Issue will cause it to move from the Backlog to the Board no matter what frontend you are using. Are you able to change the status of the Issue in the mobile app?
