Missing project list when editing custom field context

I've ran into a problem with Start Date custom field not showing anymore on my edit/view/create issue screen. Jira notified me that this field is missing in my project context. So I went there to edit this, and was surprised to find out that context where projects should be listed, is empty. I think that jira has some internal issue with this and thats why this field is gone from all project. Please advise. I'm Jira admin so user rights are not the case.
