I'm looking to migrate my out-of-support period JIRA Server 7.5 instance onto the Cloud.
My understanding is that the easiest way to do this would be to upgrade to a JIRA server version supported by the cloud migration assistant and then use it to migrate to the Cloud.
1. Is it best to just upgrade to 7.6.0 or is there any reason to select a higher version given I just need to be able to use the Cloud Migration assistant?
2. Can I do this upgrade while out of support?
Thanks,
Mike
Hi @Mike ,
The cloud migration assistant does support Jira versions as of 7.6.0. Apart from that, it is also worth checking if you have marketplace apps on your instance, as they may also impact your migration.
You might have an issue here when it comes to upgrading your server instance, because the basic answer to your second question is: no, you cannot upgrade while out of support.
Ahgh! Thanks Walter, I had hoped that I might be able to upgrade to versions that were released during the period my the support was live. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Maybe if I ask Atlassian very nicely they might find a way...
