Mentioned in function

Astrid Harms February 13, 2019

Is it possible to configure the "mentioned in"-function in JIRA?

In our instance some users don't geht the "you are mentioned in issue" notification and I don't know where they are disabled or how to disable the funtion for special roles or groups.

Thanks a lot,
Astrid

Hi @Astrid Harms,

Please refer below link, this may help.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/mentions-are-not-working-in-jira-300813787.html

Possible reasons for this:

  1. the mentioned user does not have Browse Project permission
  2. the issue where he's being mentioned has a security level that restricts him from viewing it

Hi sreenivasaraju,

thanks for your quick answer. I will have a look at the link!

Both reasons are not the solution:

The user has Browse Project permission and is member of the security level. He can view and change the issue.

He gets email notification for the comment but NOT the "you are mentioned" notification.
