Lock a board so people cannot see it

Is it possible to put a lock on a specific board?

For example our finance board is not allowed for every worker in our space. Is there a way to hide or lock it?

Hi @Dennis de Laat , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.

Yes, you can configure a board so it is only visibile to a certain project or group of people.

If you go, from the main menu to the 'Your work' section, and then choose, 'Boards' and the option to 'View all boards'

From here, you can navigate directly the board where you want to restrict the permissions. Find the board you want and click on the three dots and then choose, 'Edit settings'

And then, from here, you need to stay in the 'General' tab. What you are actually going to do is place a restriction on the filter query for the board, so that only either people from the project or a specific group can see it. Navigate in the 'General' tab to the link 'Edit Filter Query' and then you should arrive on this screen, where you need to click, as I have done, on 'Filter details'. Here you would need to edit the permissions for who should see this board and then you should be all set.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Valerie Knapp thanks for your reply.

Is it possible that i can only see this view when in a paid version of Jira workmanagement?

step 1: from overview of my projects i go to the 3 dots of the specific project > from there i go to 'project settings' > the screen below pops up, where i cannot find what you have told me? Schermafbeelding 2023-10-12 om 09.46.35.png

Hi @Dennis de Laat , thanks for your reply. Please can you confirm if this is a team-managed project?

The screen you shared is from the Details tab. If you navigate instead to the Access tab, image.png

You should be able to make the project Private or Limited so only who you want to see it can use it.

Please can you try this and let us know if it solves your issue?

Cheers

@Valerie Knapp  I found the section where i can change the acces of the board.

Sadly its a paid feature and not possible within the free plan. We are a start up and limited in our expenses.

the purple info line says: 'Anyone with access to the "beermate" site can access and manage this project. Upgrade your subscription to adjust the permissions of this project. Learn more about plans.'

Thanks for helping!Schermafbeelding 2023-10-12 om 10.47.20.png

Hi @Dennis de Laat welcome to the community.

Boards are connected to the underlying filter permission. Limit the filter permissions so Viewers and Editors reflects only those who are allowed to see the board.
