Hi, I am trying to link stories from one project board to another so that we don't have to recreate on both boards. The board I am trying to link to has sub boards, and I cannot figure out how to get the story to the correct sub board.  I have a filter, and can see the stories if I select the filter, but am not able to see it on the sub board so i can add it to the correct epic.

Hi @Ellen Ruscica

You will have to update the filter used by the board where you want to show the issue from the other board/project on.

Example:

I have 2 projects A and B

Project A has a board the filter query of the board is: project = a order by rank and project B has a board the filter query of the board is: project = b order by rank

If I would like to show information from  BUGs from project A on the board of project B, I will need to make sure I have permissions in both projects.

And then I need to adjust the filter used by the board in project B.

Original board filter query: project = b order by rank

New board filter query: project = b or (project = a and type = bug) order by rank

thank you. I did cerate a filter, and can see the story from project A in my project B filter, but I can't figure out how to get it to show in the sub board of project b so I can then drag it to the proper epic.  I can only view it from my filters.  I took the same query and tried to add it as a quick filter on the sub boards backlog, but that didn't work.

here is my filter - GEUS is my project B and TPM is my project A, however, I also have a sub board called Extended Services under GEUS, and that is where I am stuck.

project = GEUS AND Label = BOS_GEUS OR (project = TPM and Label = BOS_GEUS) order by rank

Hope that makes sense.

Hi @Ellen Ruscica

Jira has no sub board option ootb.

Are you using an app for this in your instance?

Or do you mean you have multiple board on one project? If so the filter has to be adjusted for both boards.

Each board has a filter, this could be the same filter, so check the filter on the other board.

Are you using the same workflows in both projects?

Please als share config screenshots of your board configurations
