Hi Team,
We are using JIRA Cloud in our organization in which we create boards for our projects. As per current settings everyone can create a board of it own which is creating a problem at both Admin and Project end. Is there any mechanism through which we can limit the access for board creation to certain people ?
I have googled this query and according to the answer available at one of JIRA Forum, you can control it by restricting the access on Create Shared Objects. If we apply this change then no one will be able to share their filters and dashboard (which we don't want to).
Kindly suggest an appropriate solution.
With Best Regards,

Hi Abu,
In addition to the answer from @Chander Inguva please take note of this recent announcement from Atlassian of how they are introducing more granular permissions for managing sprints. https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2015/11/improvements-to-jira-software-sprint-management
Once these are fully implemented (and the first release has already happened)

you will have the following permissions which you can assign appropriately to your users.
You should pay particular attention to the steps at the bottom of the blog about how to transfer your current permissions to the new permissions.
Hope this helps.
Phill
Hey Abu,
I don't know if this helps you, but generally creating boards and all should be restricted to Admin/Project Lead. Make sure they have enough permission referring to https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-resources/jira-agile-faq/how-to-restrict-the-access-to-jira-agile-scrum-board
If any user wants a board, he might have to get an approval from Project Lead, so Admin/Project Lead can give him access.
Regards
Chander
