Hi all,
We currently have all our issues set up in a way that the main way to categorize their type is by labels. (ex: label for fit vs label for gap).
The Burndown Chart feature in Jira shows all issues by default, but is there a way to add filter by label?
Thank you in advance.
Hi @Kaushik Bhattacharya -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
No, that is not possible with the built-in burn charts. There are more configurable reports like this available in the Atlassian Marketplace.
What problem are you trying to solve by doing that type of filtering? That is, "why" do this?
Knowing that may help the community to suggest other alternatives.
Kind regards,
Bill
Thanks for the quick response Bill!
Essentially I want to create 2 different burndown charts, 1 for issues labelled as "fit" and a separate one for issues labeled as "gap". The ask from my leads is that we have these separated because they apply to different teams.
Do you know of any good options in the Marketplace?
Thank you,
Kaushik

Ah...if there are two different teams please consider if there should be two different boards in the same project. Each would have its own backlog, board, and reporting.

You can display the burndown chart for the issues with a specific label by using the Release Burnup Burndown Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.
This gadget uses a filter of issues instead of a sprint. So, all you have to do is to create and save a filter in Jira that returns the issues with a certain label (like "labels = gap"), and configure the gadget to use this filter. Repeat this for the "fit" label and you will have both charts on your dashboard.
This app offers many other useful gadgets for project tracking. Just have a look over the articles from our blog to make an idea. It can be an excellent asset for your team or company.
