I want to create a multi-swim lane based on JQL. I have 9 swim lanes that I want on my Kanban board. I created my 9 JQL queries (e.g. [filter criteria | field ] = filter criteria selection). The filters are basic/simple and the items do NOT have multiple selections, they are unique.
When I go to the Kanban board, it only shows 5 of the 9 query based swim lanes. It appears that Jira shows the top 5 swim lanes vice all 9.
I want to see all 9 swim lanes at all the time.
Has anyone been able to determine and work around this limitation?
Hi Jeffrey - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Swimlanes will only be shown if there are issues that meet the criteria of the swim lane. If no issues meet the criteria, the swimlane does appear.
But I don’t think I have ever had more than 5 swimlanes either so not sure if there’s a display limit.
Yes, and...to John's answer:
I just did a quick test and had 11 swim lanes before I stopped testing. Please consider what John described and confirm that your queries are ordered (and/or mutually exclusive) to get all the lanes you want. For example, if an issue fits in multiple lane queries, it will appear in the first one from the top.
Kind regards,
Bill
