Jira wont start (not a valid Win32 application)

IT Master April 4, 2020

Hello,

we installed Jira Software 8.5.4 (LTS) on Windows x64 but the service won't start. The event viewer shows error ID 7024.

If I look in the log folder of Jira it shows the following:

[2020-04-04 19:02:15] [error] [ 7260] %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
[2020-04-04 19:02:15] [error] [ 7260] Failed creating Java C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_201\bin\client\jvm.dll
[2020-04-04 19:02:15] [error] [ 7260] %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
[2020-04-04 19:02:15] [error] [ 7260] ServiceStart returned 1
[2020-04-04 19:02:15] [error] [ 7260] %1 is not a valid Win32 application.

I think the problem is because on that computer Java (JRE) is already installed. It's required by installed Tomcat9 and XWiki Software.

Is there a way to get Jira Software running without deleting the installed JRE?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you Pavel!

Changed the Java path in

tomcat8w //ES//%SERVICENAME%

and then the service was starting.

Cheers,
Mario
