Hello,
We updated jira version from 7.12.3 to 8.13.0.
And we updated PosgreSQL version too, from 9.6.6 to 11.7.
Also now we use another driver, before we used PostgreSQL Native Driver PostgreSQL 9.4.1212, now the driver is PostgreSQL JDBC Driver 42.2.6.
The full indexing time decreased from 20 minutes to 8-9 minutes.
But the background indexing time increased from 30 minutes to 62-65 minutes and Jira Service is slow down while background indexing.
The simple actions like edit any field of issue, or transition or any another action is get 30 seconds or more.
In the old version, all actions during background indexing works instantly, as well as during when indexing isn't work.
What could be the cause of the trouble? How to solve it?
Regards, Dana
you did a lot of changes.
are there some upgrade notes for postgres?
- like migrate 9.6 DB when opening under 11.7?
can you go back to the old driver and check if it is working better with 11.7?
in jira system, is there enough memory available?
whats the server CPU and memory usage during indexing? is it ok?
compatibility seems to be ok

Hello,
Thank you, Alexander.
We contacted support.
We use SSD, problems with disk speed or memory were not found.
We moved the directory with indexes to the mounted ramdisk, but it didn't help.
As a result, we were suggested to watch updates of bug JRASERVER-72045.
The strangest detail we found is that if SQL dump logging turned on, there are no problems with slow saving changes during background re-indexing.
Best regards,
Dana
