Jira Webhooks not sending data to HTTPS url

Up until recently, I was using a server which wasn't secure (http) and was able to receive the webhook JSON  from Jira Cloud without any issues. 

Jira recently deprecated the use of HTTP endpoints with their webhooks, which makes sense. So I added an SSL certificate to my server and added a reverse proxy to point to the IP.

When I move a card, or do anything that I've subscribed to, I can see the POST request being made to my server but I am unable to see any JSON data.

I have seen two other questions with similar problems but was unable to find a clear cut solution.

Are there any settings I need to change? And if so, what might they be?
