Hi All,
I have experiencing increasing billing cost in AWS data transfer after upgrading my Jira software version 8.20 to 9.11.
Is there any updated feature on Jira v9.11 which using more data transfer than previous version?
I have checked on the end user activity as well, there is not much difference in their daily use of Jira, even the users numbers are significantly decreasing in last 2 weeks after the upgrade. In fact, the cost of data transfer still increased about 200% after the upgrade.
Thank you.
Welcome @Salman Farozi
Your case is really interesting. I am thinking that you should start by checking somehow (on a monitoring chart) when re the biggest data transfer activities (on what time) and try to check logs for anything suspicious. It might be something that was disabled but upgrade enabled it again or simply something new unexpected.
Would be nice to check transfer on a test system (on the same version after upgrade) .. then we have completely unused system that we could compare to production. This might give a clue what might be causing it. Maybe there is an integration that you are not aware of or it might be something on Jira side, but without the logs it is hard to say.
Hi @Mirek
Thanks for your insight, we have collected the logs for few days.
It seems that there is some possibility of the issue due to a plugin installed in our Jira. Moreover, we are still keeping on monitoring the increasing data transfer that might be caused by the feature upgrade, following your suggestion.
