With JIRA software v. 8.12.1 (Server edition), when I start a new sprint and enter start and end dates, the Start Sprint dialog shows the number of days in the sprint as one less than it should.
For example, if I set the start date to Monday 9:00am and the end date to Friday 6:00pm three weeks later, the number of days should be 15, but the Start Sprint dialog shows that the sprint contains 14 days. Then, if I block out one day as a corporate holiday, it shows 12 days instead of 14! Is this a bug? How do I work around it?
I am also confused when I want to select 2 week sprint, it takes into account 11 days from 29th May to 12the June. I'm unsure why?
Hi,
I presume your 15 days is inclusive of working days (say Mondays to Fridays) and non-working days (Saturdays and Sundays).
Being this the case, the number of days displayed as 14 days at start day of the sprint is correct, this is because the last day is categorized as 0 day(s) remaining instead of 1 day(s) remaining.
You can use the similar calculation for blocking days as holidays, hope this helps.

Hi, Vinod, thanks for your answer, but it's still an issue.
Your reply implies that the Create Sprint dialog shows how many days are remaining in the sprint, but the message says:
This sprint contains XX working days.
So if the sprint starts on a Monday 9:00am and ends on a Friday 5:00pm 3 weeks later, with Sat and Sun as non-working days, then the dialog should show 15 days, not 14.
This seems like a bug. And by the way, it would be better if the start and end fields did not require time. That just confuses the issue.
