In Progress Parent Issue with Sub-Tasks not showing in the In Progress column on Sprint Board

When a subtask is added to an issue in Jira, the Sprint board shows the parent In Progress issue under the To Do column.  The subtasks are In Progress and show in the In Progress column as expected.

You can clearly see all the issues are in the status of In Progress.  Is there a fix for this?

I have checked the Board configuration and nothing stands out as obvious that would cause this.

Hi @Bob Calkins , the status of a parent won’t automatically transition based upon the children status unless configured to do so using Automation.

transition to In progress when the first subtask transitions to IP. Transition to Done only when all subtasks are Done. Then there is what to do with other statuses to figure out.
