I have one custom field with name RA reference. When I renew one record(transition to renew record) then RA reference should be populated and post fix will increment.
Example:
Existing RA reference when I create a new record is : RA-202334-10
when I want to renew this existing record, then RA reference number should become RA-202334-10-R1, then again when we renew this RA-202334-10-R1 then it should be linked with new record with ref no RA-202334-10-R2.
EXAMPLE 2:
New record RAD1: RA-202234-10
When I renew this record RAD1 then RAD2 will be created with linked issue RAD1 and have RA reference no as RA-202234-10-R1
Hi @Udeshya -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You seem to be using terminology for your domain area, rather than things that exist in Jira Cloud. To align, let's confirm what you mean first...
Depending upon your answers, you might be able to use an automation rule to increment a field in one Issue. If instead you mean a "RA reference" custom field that increments across your entire Jira site, that may require a different solution approach.
Kind regards,
Bill
