I want to have all new Issues under an Epic automatically link to its Slack channel. How?

Client = Epic

I linked the Epic to a Client-specific Slack Channel

I want issues linked to the Epic to also automatically link to the slack channel. 

 

How do I do this?

Hey @alicia_kundtz - have you taken a look at automationsHere's a help guide to get you started.

Here's one way you could achieve this with automations:

  1. When: issue created
  2. Add an new condition -> "if/else" block -> issue fields condition -> "epic name contains". Then set the particular name of the epic
  3. Add a new action -> edit issue -> choose the field you want to update -> add the link to the slack room
  4. Publish the rule and test it out!

I don't have a field for "Connected Slack Channel" that I can update though.
