How to sync up "Link issue" in a ticket?

AllenH November 11, 2020

Hi Supports,

We have a ticket that is embedded with other project's ticket in the Link issue.
I wonder how to make it sync up?

Special Note:

  1. Issue A-1 linked with B-1
A-1 and B-1 are issued in different projects.
  2. Exalate both Issues A-1 and B-1
  3. Now new exalate issues (let's called them C-1 and D-1) are also linked between them.
C-1 and D-1 are issued in different projects.

Does it require an extra script to make it happen?

Our sync up situation goes like this:
1.  Parent site (Jira Service Desk/ Desk) <> Receiver site (Jira Software/ Cloud)
2.  In the parent site, issue A-1 has one link issued (in another project)
3.  I Exalate issue A-1 to receiver project
4.  I expect issue A-1 to show the issue link as well (the issue link is being exalate as well)

Thank you in advance!

Hey Allen,
Thank you for the question :)

Exalate sends issue link information to the destination instance out of the box.

To receive it properly on the destination instance you will need to add this to the incoming script:

issue.issueLinks = replica.issueLinks

 Additionally, make sure you are:

  1. Syncing both issues through Exalate
  2. Within the same Exalate connection

Hi Joes,
Thank you so much! I will try it later on and get back to you ASAP!

By the way, is it possible to trigger a ticket by custom field 's value?
For instance, we have a filed called "Working Team" in which it contains four values ( Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D).

The reason to use it as a trigger is that we are trying to identify a ticket by whom it should be processed by the teams mentioned above.

Yes, custom field values can create triggers.

You will need a trigger per value so that it is sent to the correct workflow

Hi Dorohy,

Like to seek out your wisdom here.
I like to sync up a project in which its issue type only has one, incident.
The trigger is set on both ends, Parent site (Jira Service Desk/ Desk) <> Receiver site (Jira Software/ Cloud).

Yet, the funny thing about it is that it can't trigger a auto sync up instead of manual one?
Often times, parent site is generating the tickets that aren't sync up so I need to manually to enable exalte it. And it will work then.

Is something I did not set up right here?

Thank you in advance!
