How to show "Due date" field in the card layout in a Kanban board from a Company managed project?

Marina Ballester Ripoll December 29, 2022

Hi,

I am trying to show the 'Due date' field on the cards from a specific Kanban Board from a Company Managed software project but for some reason I am not able to make it work. Below I explain the steps performed:

1. Click on 'Board settings'

2. Click on 'Card layout'

3. In the dropdown menu, search for 'Due date' field and click on 'Add' (please see below image):

However, when I go back to the Kanban board after performing the above steps, I still do not see the Due date on the cards as you can see in the image from below:

Even if the field 'Due date' is fulfilled:

Can you please help me add it?

Thanks!

Hi @Marina Ballester Ripoll welcome to the Atlassian Community!

When you go to the issue detail view, is the Due date actually filled out? If you fill it out, does it appear on the card on the kanban board?

That was my question - is there actually a value in the field for it to display.

Yes, the 'Due date' field is fulfilled for all of them, here you can see the detailed view of the card shown on the left side:

Hello @Marina Ballester Ripoll

It is possible that there is more than one field named "Due date" in your instance.

You can determine this by going to the Advanced Issue Search screen, switching to JQL mode, and typing in Due in the JQL field. A list of all possible matching fields will display.

You should see only this

If you see another entry that says Due date then you have more than one Due Date field in your system. In that case you should work with your Jira Administrators to see if the additional Due Date field can be eliminated or renamed.

Hi @Trudy Claspill

Many thanks for your message. I have checked what you said and indeed, I can see more than one 'Due date' field:

However, when I look for the 2 'Due date' fields in Project Settings > Issues > Fields and I sort them alphabetically, I can see only one:

Also, when I look for the 'Due date' field in the Cards Layout configuration in order to see if both appear so that I could switch to the other one, again, only one is appearing:

Provide the information you found to your Jira Administrators. Ask if they can temporarily change the name of the custom field named "Due Date" to something else to see if that makes a difference in what you see available for Card Layout options.

Do you know if Jira data was migrated from another Jira instance to your Jira Cloud instance?
