Hello everyone,
I'd like to set different default values for the field "Description" https://take.ms/z1gaq depends on the selected issue type
For instance,
Issues type "User story" will have
Description:
Acceptance criteria:
Design:
Issues type "Bug" will have
Environment:
Steps to reproduce:
Expected result:
Actual result:
How can I do this?
Hi @sergey.guba
Are you wanting the fields 'acceptance criteria', 'design', etc. to be part of the Description or their own fields?
They can't be part of the description, but you can have them as custom fields.
This article will show you how to Create a Custom Field
This article shows you how to Add a Custom Field to a Screen
And this article will explain how to Add it to the Request Type
Once you've done that you should be good to go.
Hope that helps,
Regards, Liam
I'd strongly recommend doing it with these new fields. If you default the description, you're going to end up with a lot of issues with just the defaults set because people don't need to bother putting in a description.
Separate fields also make searching and reporting easier.

these are the type of things that you can resolve using ScriptRunner.
I've recomment you buy this software because it's the "must be" for all the automations.
