We have a project for all of UX. The project has two kanban boards. The first board was just the main one associated with the project. The second board appeared after I created a 'component' for the Design System to manage that work separately and have a different release schedule.
I created an Epic in the Design System kanban board, then started to create Stories under that. The stories, somehow, ended up in the main UX board, while the epic still shows under the component Design System board.
How can I move the Design System stories from the main project board to the component board?
I think I found it. There's a 'component' field down further on the work items. Setting that seems to make it appear in the component kanban board. Confusing because this doesn't appear in the same location between Epics and Stories.

Hi @kbrown - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Cards appear on boards based on the filter associated with that board. I suspect that the filters for the two boards incorporate the component value somehow. That is probably what makes the card appear on one or the other or both boards.

That might happen for others. In my case, it wasn't a filtering problem. The problem was with assignment, or lack of assignment, to a component. The sub-kanban board is for a component, while the main kanban board is functioning like a catch-all for Jira items without any component assigned.
