Our Jira is hooked to Github to show the Development info -> branch, commits, pull reqests (PR) etc.
What we want is a smart way to add right fix version (there can be multiple releases -> versions. main, release branches) and components fields when a PR is merged in GitHub.
Tried with Jira "Incoming Webhook" automation but got shot down as GitHub doesnt send Issue ID in URL nor post body. So, how would you edit the fields of that issue in automation?
Following are the fields tested and Github does send on PR action:
PR State: {{webhookdata.pull_request.state}};
Repo name: {{webhookdata.pull_request.base.repo.name}};
Repo branch: {{webhookdata.pull_request.base.ref}};
So, the question is; is there a proactive way to automate the fix version and component field per ticket PR merged in Github?
Thanks.
