How do I setup email batching in JIRA software?

Hello!

I am trying to setup batching for email alerts - but I don't see Batching email notifications as an option in my navigation after going to System.

 

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

That's awesome! How do I turn this on?

To enable batching of email notifications:

  1. Go to  > System > Batching email notifications (you can also search for it by pressing 'gg').

  2. Click the toggle to enable this feature. It will be applied to all users.

Hi @Audra Bell ,

welcome to the Atlassian community.

Batched notifications are enabled in cloud sites and the default time interval for the same recipient and issue is batched up to 3 minutes of inactivity with a maximum waiting time of 10 minutes.

In terms of being able to configure this batch window, Atlassian has an item in their development backlog to address this:

How do I setup batching initially?  I want to turn on batching.

 

Right now the interval isn't an issue.  I just can't find where to setup the batches in the first place.  THANK YOU!!!

@Audra Bell Configuration is not available in cloud.

The documentation, you are mentioning, is probably for DC Jira, not cloud.

So I can't setup email batching in JIRA Software?

But you are able to use it, @Audra Bell . Configuration is not available, but the functionality is turned on.

I suggest you to watch the Atlassian issue I’ve provided before.

Hello!  I looked at the issue - how do I turn it on in my instance?  We are currently receiving lots of notifications.  Thank you!

@Audra Bell Have you tried to check how notification schemes for your projects look like? Probably it would help you to adjust them.
