How do I create list of values for "Components" that are globally available (not one project)?

I am looking to create a series of values for "Components" field that can be globally made available across the organisation.

However I see this is limited to one project currently.

It will be great if you could help suggest a possible way to do this please.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

It is not possible to have a single list of shared values for the Components field. That is a project-specific multiple selection list.

If you are working with Company Managed projects you could instead make a new custom field of type "Select List (multiple selections)", create one default global context for it, and make that field available to all projects.

However, any user can create a new Label value. It is not a controlled list of values.

Thanks both! Yes I was looking at Labels but as you said it is uncontrolled and likely to have data quality challenges.
