Hello Community,
I am very new to Jira. First things first: I am not my org's or the customer org's Jira-Admin.
My task is to migrate the data of two team-managed projects into an already existing company-managed project.
I was tasked to setup the three test projects needed as specified above and have them filled with sample data, working with one of my Jira Admins.
Now this is easy for the company-managed project since it is already built into Jira to create such projects, but I can't find an option to fill sample data into team-managed projects or create a team-managed project with sample data already in it. Can someone provide test data as csv for the two team-managed projects?
Thank you all in advance!
Kind regards
Valentin
Hi @Valentin Dachtler and welcome to the Community!
Why don't you just export the data from the existing team managed projects to csv? That way, you'll have the actual data you are going to move for real to test with.
In your team managed project, make sure the issue navigator feature is enabled. Navigate to issues from the left sidebar and export all issues to csv.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your answer!
I currently don't have access to the actual customer data and projects yet, but I wanted to start testing in advance. I don't know yet, if I will even have that level of access to them. The task at hand is first to figure out (using my employers own infrastructure) a way the customer can migrate their projects with an automated process and then either do it myself or (if the automation of it doesn't work) do it manually or help the customer do one of both.
