How can I use a custom URL with Jira Software (Server) running on a linux machine

Steve T April 7, 2019

Hi, I tried several methods to use a subdomain on my domain to access Jira, however, none of them worked. I'm running Jira 8.1.0 on a Ubuntu 18.10 install on a VM. I used the default install location and default ports and such when I installed. I tried setting up a reverse proxy with nginx, however, I do not know what I'm doing too well, so it didn't work.

Hi,

can you share your Nginx conf? Did you configure DNS records for domain (what about TTL - maybe they are only long)?
