Guidance Needed on Transferring a Project Board Between Company Accounts

Hi there,

I’m currently working on a project within a Jira board hosted on our original company site (company-x.atlassian.com). We’ve recently established a new company account (company-y.atlassian.com) and need to transfer the existing project board, complete with its timeline and tasks, to this new account.

Could you please advise on the most efficient method to accomplish this transfer? Are there tools or procedures within Jira to migrate a project between accounts without losing data integrity and minimizing downtime?

Any step-by-step guides, tips, or relevant documentation would be immensely helpful.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Best regards,
Lasse

Hello @Lasse Schmitt

You said "atlassian.com". Are you using a self hosted copy of the Jira product? Or are you using the Atlassian Cloud hosted product and actually meant "atlassian.net"?

Atlassian has provided extensive documentation on how to migrate information between self-hosted instances, self-hosted to cloud, and cloud to self-hosted. These can be found by searching the Internet for "Jira migration".
