Get timetracking remaining estimate through API (and not SUM of remaining estimate)

Thibault Clavier January 9, 2019

As defined in the API doc, it is possible to get the remaining estimate by doing a "get issue" (see https://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/REST/7.6.1/#api/2/issue-getIssue)

However, this remaining estimate is actually the sum of the remaining estimates (including the issue and its children).

Is there a way to get the remaining estimate of the querried ticket only?

Hi @Thibault Clavier

I tried to execute this rest call and what i got was actually the  remaining estimate of the issue and not including the subtask values. I cross verified it with multiple issues. Could you check from your end?

"timetracking": {
"originalEstimate": "2d 5h",
"remainingEstimate": "2d 5h",
"originalEstimateSeconds": 75600,
"remainingEstimateSeconds": 75600
},

Hello Fazila,

Thank you for your feedback. I re-checked with different data and it does indeed the work as expected...

I will investigate what happened.

Thanks!

Is there a way to get the remaining estimate and to include the children for a Story? without needing to iterate over each children ?
