Gadget feed URL failed health check - cannot resolve

bunchrides October 15, 2018

Hello,

I followed the steps to trouble shoot this issue:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/health-check-jira-base-url-859447384.html

My IT guy who managed the installation said:

-Base URL is correct https://manual.bunchrides.com:8443

-Base URL is resolvable and reachable from the server itself

-HTTPS Certificate is installed and valid

-Jira is bound to a secondary IP Address on server, Same as working configuration for Confluence

-No HTTP/HTTPS Proxy is being used

I am not sure how I can resolve this?

cheers

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The health check looks for a 200 OK message, and if that's not returned then it either means that it cannot access the URL or that there's a problem with the server.

Could you have a look at your Jira server logs and see if there are any further messages about what the problem might be? That will help us to narrow down the issue.

In addition, you may want to review the PKIX article that was mentioned in order to make sure all the intermediate certificates are installed properly. This tends to be an issue. I've seen where the same cert was installed across different applications, but once it got to Jira there was an issue due to a slight misconfiguration.

Also, when you ran the SSL poke, what came back? I tried to run an SSL test myself but I'm not able to reach your URL as it appears to be behind a firewall.

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Sharon,

I had the SSL re-installed from my developer:

I've re-exported and imported the SSL cert with the latest CA certificates just in case, as some of the CA's have had trust issues (https://www.thesslstore.com/blog/final-distrust-symantec-ssl-certificates/) and forced reissues. Not sure if it'll make any difference or not, but they'll at least be the latest variant.

Thank you again.

Have a great weekend,

cheers
