I would like to utilize the new "Direct issue editing" feature of the backlog in the scrum board to run meetings where we can edit the issue status on the fly.
I have a Filter called project filter already working well.
Which basically shows all projects related issues.
I applied this same filter into the scrum board but somehow it only shows issues that are in progress in the backlog.
Is there a way i can show all projects issues in the backlog of a scrum board?
Thanks!
Hi @Andy Wong and welcome to the Community!
From what you describe, the most likely cause of what is happening here is that the In Progress status is mapped to the backlog column of your board. I suspect it must be something like that, because it seems as if only in progress issues are showing.
It is not a good idea to map additional statuses to the backlog, as they can't be both on the backlog and as statuses representing the stages of work in your active sprint. Having in progress mapped to the backlog is also quite strange. I would rather expect a Backlog and/or To Do status there.
So check the configuration of your board and find out how the workflow statuses are mapped to board columns there.
If that doesn't work out, do share some screenshots of your board configuration (column mapping) and the JQL filter that is behind your board.
Hope this helps!
Thank you Walter.
You're right, i solved this by mapping the status in the column settings.
haha yes you're right if we using agile.
However we are not running sprints at this moment.
I use this board just because of it's ability to edit the status on the fly, this allow me to run through weekly meetings with breeze.
Because in the filters, the status won't be updated until i refresh the page.
Another issue i faced is, backlog only shows main issues type and it does not support sub tasks.
This is a feature still developing by Jira so i think later in the future they will allow us to see sub task in backlogs, this is actually requested by many other engineers.
