Hi all.
We are trying to export from Xray (we have a few hundreds tests) but fail.
the tutorial point to use the app better excel
or export instructions
But both depend on a custom field ("Manual Test steps") Which do not exists on our Jira.
We have Jira cloud and xray, and all searches lead to dead ends.
What to do when the "Manual Test steps" isn't exists?
I will add that this query return empty to our Jira admin:
issuetype = 'Test' and "Manual Test Steps" ~ "Login with user administrator" |
Hi @Yoav Weiss and welcome to the community,
On Xray documentation states that:
Test Step Custom Fields
It is possible to define your own Test Step custom fields or even disable the native Xray fields for Test Steps. You can configure the Test Step fields on the Project Settings > Test Step Custom Fields
Have you done this?
In addition, on your subject of this post you are saying that you want to import the tests, but on your actual question you say that you are trying to export the tests. So, if I may ask, what is your goal? Export the tests from server and import them to cloud?
Thanks, we want to export the data out of jira/Xray (updated the title)
We tried to manipulate the fields now, but the main question will it impact existing data? (if not it might be a dead end)

also @Alex Koxaras _Relational_ (thanks for your quick reply :))
It seems the article you sent is configuration inside of the steps, but we missing the step (to export) as a whole (in a Jira Test, we see the Steps editor as expected)
The steps default as they where are not shown in JQL searched
(or we can't add the column "Manual Test Steps")
So any csv/XLS export we try, fail to show the critical part to us(steps)
Hope this makes it more clear
