Design team software solution

Question

We have a small but busy team of designers with no formal process of how a design request gets submitted, due date, assignee, requestor and so on. I'm a little overwhelmed at all of the products Atlassian offers.

We need software to submit design requests, track their completion, have discussions (e.g., comments) and analytics on our work.

Which Atlassian product(s) will solve this for us?

Will we need to install anything from JIRA, or can the JIRA just be used from our teams' browsers? This is a little confusing to me, sorry! Appreciate any help here.

JIRA - it will take in design requests as issues, track them through their lifecycle (inlcuding ownership), allow collaborations such as comments (and others), and let you report on how they are handled.
