Hello,
We accidentally created a story and few tasks in a JIRA project. We wanted to delete the story and tasks associated with that. We currently don't have a delete button to delete a story/task. Is there a way to grant permission to delete stories. Please let me know the workflow.
Looking forward to your response.
Regards,
Pramod D C
Hi @Pramod DC ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You can check your 'Delete issue permission' Project Settings-> permissions
You should have Jira Admin access to change the permissions.
I hope it will help you.
Hi @Pramod DC
welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Please make sure you have the appropriate permissions from Permission Scheme.
If this is new to you I will link the documentation on managing Permission Schemes for you:
Another very useful tool is the "Admin Helper" - directly from within Jira it shows if a specified user is missing permissions.
In general a rule of thumb within Jira is not to delete issues. Is is a destructive task and cannot be reverted.
Please test and let us know what you found out.
Regards,
Daniel
