Custom Fields

Erwin Bustamante January 24, 2018

Would like to ask if it's possible to set-up a custom fields for this scenario.

1. I have a custom field (single field list)

2. If i select once of the value in single field list. The next custom field would display fields related to the above custom field.

for e.g. Custom fields below

Category: There are selections like "System, Profile, Data, etc"

selected is System

SubCategory: will list all available selections related to System like Database, Maintenance, etc.

Basically, something like Parent - Child relationship of custom fields

Is this somewhat feasible? Appreciate your help. Many Thanks!

Hi Erwin,

I think, what you need is a custom field of type "Select List (cascading)".

There you have two select lists - the available values of the second one depend on the selected value of the first one.

Without any code or add-ons, you've just described a custom field of type "cascading select list",   Try adding one of those to your Jira.  The only difference between your description and what they do is location - the pair of fields for a cascading select appear next to each other on one line.
