Hi there,
I wonder if there is a possibility to get a custom date range with the Created vs. Resolved Gadget
It seems to be that I can only choose xxx days into the past, but it is not possible to generate a chart for e.g. the whole Year 2018.
We are using JIRA Cloud therefore xCharts is not a solution.
Can anyone help? :)
Greetings
Hi @Nils Ralfs
With our add-ons Great Gadgets for Jira Server and Great Gadgets for Jira Cloud you can have a Created vs Resolved chart on your dashboard that allows selecting a time range.
In the 10 gadgets offered by the add-on, there is a Release Burndown / Burnup Chart gadget than can be easily configured as Created vs Resolved Chart. Just take a look at this example.

I agree - Hope someone is reading and would take out that option. You can always have filter that will allow you to get data for a particular timeline or even as of today.
Please please please take the "Days previsouly" option out of that gadget.

I am going thru same issue. I think the days previously is an unnecessary option. I can have filter to manage time period. Hope someone would answer this or add to JIRA's backlog

As you have found you can’t select the range. One idea that pops to mind, but not where I can confirm, is to create a filter that has the custom range and the associate to the gadget. LMK if that works. 😉

Hey thanks for the fast reply. Even with the addition of "AND created >= 2018-01-01 AND created <= 2018-12-31" the gadget includes 2019.
Very frustrating, I dont know if this is possible with some plugin? It seems to me like a very obvious feature for reporting.

Hey unfortunately this does not work. Even with the filter "AND created >= 2018-01-01 AND created <= 2018-12-31" The gadget will still show data out of 2019.
Is there some other way or maybe a plugin for this? I think this should be a mandatory feature for reporting.....Really disappointing that this is not available out of the box.

Did anyone find a fix for this??
We want to have on a dashboard:
2022 - 2023
2023 - 2024
2024 - 2025
etc and be able to compare the data clearly (July in gadget 1 is in the same spot on gadget 2)

Hi @Phil H,
This is not possible by using Jira's default gadgets. But you can do this by using apps from Atlassian Marketplace.
If you want to try an app, this can be easily achieved by using some of the gadgets provided by our Great Gadgets plugin, which allow configuring custom date ranges.
So you could put the gadgets side-by side, like in this example, and compare the same periods.
Release Burndown Burnup Chart gadget configured as created vs resolved - shows the cumulative historical data
Cumulative Flow Diagram gadget shows the cumulative historical data
