Cross Project Filtering

Current Setup: Company Managed Project
Project Name: A
Existing Filter For Project: project in (X, Y, Z)

Goal

I am looking to create a JIRA architecture where cross-functional teams manage their own projects so that we have the ability to expose/suppress different JIRA projects (X, Y, Z)  to certain groups.

A new project would be created ("A") that would have a filter attached as above to pull in all 3 individual projects. The piece that I struggle on is that I would like to be able to add a quick filter at the top to be able to select which project that I view out of X, Y, Z.

I know that a swim lane is an option but that is not what I am looking to do.

I have seen this setup in the past on kanban boards, and have worked with external 3rd parties in the past as seen in this attached Issue list

Ultimately I am interested in hearing other ways to potentially solve this whether it is a different project architecture or any 3rd party tools. I do not think creating 1 project with multiple boards is a scalable solution in this case.

I am not looking for 3 separate options, similar to how the "Only My Issues" appears today. I am looking for 1 option where the end-user selects the project view.

Okay, so you are looking for a dropdown on the Kanban board for the projects that the user can select from?  In that case then you would need an app like Advanced Agile & Kanban boards or one of the other apps in the Marketplace that adds that feature.

Hi @Scott_Hamilton,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

This should be pretty straight forward, all you would need to do in quick filters is to add something like this for each project

Then just repeat that for each project. This is what I do in our IT project which spans both our ITSM project and an internal project, we can then filter out each one when needed.

Also note that the screenshot you included is from the issue view, which does not have the quick filter feature, you can only add that when you are in the board view.

Thanks for the answer although that is not exactly what I am looking for and have seen in the past at the Kanban level. I am looking for 1 option where the end-user selects the project view.
