Create Issue Permission on Issue Collector

Hi All - First time here and posting.

I have created an Issue Collector on a project for the requests to create projects by our user base. I work at a professional services firm so when we close new business the PMs will submit a request on the collector through our internal employee site and Jira will create an Issue.

It seems that all users need to have the "Create Issue" permission on this project in order for Jira to attempt to match on the Reporter field. However, if I do that, the project is visible for both internal and, more importantly, our external users to create issues against.

Thanks!

Hi @Eric Lynch

Welcome to community!

If you are using issue collector to gather feedback from both internal and external and unlicensed users, you are unable to use the reporter field. The issue collecter is really meant to be there as a general way to submit feedback, but is only there if needed. It generally isn't recommended to be used due to it's limitations. If you need a better input the best way to do it for internal and external users is Jira Service Management. Any true good entry way will have a cost associated to it. The issue collector doesn't have a cost as it's essentially a way to have a work around without having a cost associated. but due to their being no cost there are going to be limitations, such as not being able to use the reporter field for unlicensed users.

Best,

Clark
