I am admin of a software project, where I want to receive email-notifications, and I am also member of a service project (role: service desk team), where I don't want to receive email-notifications. Under settings / Personal settings / Email notifications for issue activity I can only manage global settings, as far as i can see. Is there a way to manage email notifications based on a project, but as a personal setting? Don't want to change the settings for the whole team.

Unfortunately you would have to make some changes at the project level if you want to change project specific notifications. I believe that there are some apps that allow you to do what you are wanting to do: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=notifications
