I'm not sure I understand. If an issue exists in a completed sprint, this sprint itself should not appear on an active board, nor on the backlog. The active board only shows currently active sprints. And the backlog only shows planned and active sprints. You would still be able to see that completed sprint name and issues in some of the reports section though.
If you want to remove that issue from the sprint, you should still be able to do so, provided that you can edit that issue, and change the sprint field. In some cases, your workflow might not allow you to edit closed issues, in which case you would likely have to open the issue again first before you could edit it. It's also possible that the sprint field might not be on the view/edit screen, and until that field exists on that screen, you might not be able to edit the issue directly in order to remove it from a sprint.
Glad to hear that was helpful. If you feel this resolved the issue, then please click the Accept Answer checkbox next to where you can vote for answers. This will help our system to mark this issue as solved, which in turn can help with the search results of other users that might have this same question in the future.
