Clone Company managed or Team managed project

Hi there,

I have not found a way unless use add on Apps, asking if there is a way to clone an existing project whether its a Company managed or Team managed project without using any apps.

Regards

MM

Hi @Mimi Peters ,

Only Jira admins can create projects with a shared configuration. The shared configuration setting isn't available on Free plan.

If you want to clone only the config without the tickets in it, then follow below steps.

  1. Select Projects > Create project in the navigation.
  2. Under project templates, templates are grouped into a series of use-case based categories. Under Products, templates are grouped by Jira Cloud products. Choose a category or product.
  3. Learn more about the available templates and select a template.
  4. View the detailed information on the template and choose Use template.
  5. Choose project type: Company-managed.
  6. Give your project a name.
  7. Tick the Share settings with an existing project checkbox.
  8. Use the Choose project dropdown to select the project from which you want your new project to share its configuration.
  9. Select Create.

All details is in https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-a-new-project/

Thanks, so not able to clone "Team managed" project only Company managed can be share the settings?

Hi Mimi,

you can create a project based on another project, but there’s no way to truly clone a project without using an add-on.
