When a user is mentioned in a comment (using the @ to find the person) and the email is sent to the user, is it possible to remove the comment and just say "you have been mentioned in ticket XYZ"?
The environment that they are using Jira has sensitive data and thus they don't want any comments that are added with the mention being emailed out.
You can customize the notifications by "notification scheme"
1. Go to setting and choose "issue"
2. Choose "notification scheme"
3. Click on notification
4. Choose "Issue commented"
5. Click "add" and custom what you want
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
