Working on a project with specialized functional teams that work at different pace so trying to find out if I can obtain a velocity chart per team rather than a general one
Thanks
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The best way to do this is treat a new board as the team. Each team should have a (main) board that they all work from. That will give you a velocity chart by team!
It's fine if people are in more than one team, or you create other boards for sub-sets of the teams, or to do cross-project work.
Hi @Victor Gutierrez and everyone who is looking for solution 👋
Welcome to the Community!
Also you can achieve it with Time In Status for Jira add-on. Primary propose of our tool is generating reports that show how much time each issue has spent on each status, assignee, team, or project. Also we have Sprint Performance Report, where we have all the metrics for each sprint and one of them is team velocity chart.
I would be happy if you had a look at it!
Try Time In Status for Jira for free.
You can also book a live demo - we'll show you the application inside out and answer all your questions.
Have a nice day, and happy sprinting 🥳

Another possible way to generate a velocity chart per team, would be to use the Kanban Velocity / Throughput Chart gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.
In this case, there is no need to create new boards for each team; all you have to do is to configure the gadget to use a filter or JQL that returns the issues of that team.
This gadget is highly configurable, can work with any time of estimates and can include the sub-tasks in the calculation. It can also display a Data tab with a details report.
Hope this helps.
